| Notas / Notes: | This
model is one of a series of three Me109's that I built when Hasegawa
first released them a few years ago. They are all a delight to build,
with beautifully recessed panel lines throughout and no fit problems at
all. As would be expected, the cooling flaps on the wings are separate
so the modeller can choose which position they can be fixed in.
The cockpit is a little sparse, so I added new throttles and a photo-etched seat harness. Behind the pilots head was a locker for his effects. This is best added using a thin plate of plasticard. The Revi gunsight is well represented, although the clear sections should be replaced with acetate. Photographing the cockpit with my digital camera always causes me problems, as I seem unable to get enough light in. Because of this, I have over exposed one of the images to reveal a few of the internal features. On this model, I remodelled the tropical air intake to open up the cowl. The kit parts are provided closed. Since building this model, I have tracked down images of the original machine, that clearly show the 'R6' MG151 gun pods under each wing. Sometime I may go back and retro fit them to this model. |
