Título / Tittle:   Mitsubishi Ki 46-III Dinah Nightfighter
Modelo / Model:   Special Hobby 1/72
Notas / Notes: Here's the latest build, an old LS kit of the Dinah Nightfighter. Not many of the real aircraft were so converted and they weren't very successful. They were scattered in dribs and drabs around Japan in ad-hoc nightfighting units from late 1944 as part of the Japanese Home Islands Defence Forces, hence the white bands under the National Insignia, a kind of Japanese "Defence of the Reich" recognition sign

The kit assembled fairly easily and I didn't do too much in the way of weathering on it, the few available pictures of the real aircraft show nothing much in the way of weathering. The decals came from spares (the kit's were missing when I got it), because of the white bands, I was able to use some meatballs that had off-centre white rings around them and were otherwise useless ... The red eagle on the tail is "modeller's licence" on my part, I thought it looked good there and the tail looked very bland without it !
